Can i use aftersave to remove thermal paste on the CPU, and should i apply two layer of the compound, one on the cpu and the other on the heat sink??

USE the highest purity alcohol you can find - rubbing alcohol from the drug store

99% is best and 90% is ok - skip the 70% it dries alot slower

do not worry it wipes right off - wipe off the bulk of it and then clean the rest with cotton swab, guaz. tissue or paper towel - its a non issue
