Hey guys

Ive decided to upgrade my AMD to a Q6600 Intel and have been looking for motherboards (im an asus fan :P)

I found the Asus P5K Premium (link http://www.ebuyer.com/product/142854) which seemed great, ive read some good reviews saying it is good at overclocking, very stable etc, now i was very very close to buying this motherboard as it has inbuilt wifi which i will be needing next year, but then i found out it does not have PCI-Express 2.0.
The reason this put me off was the fact that although i dont need 2.0 at the moment (i have a 8800 GTS) i didnt fancy forking out for another motherboard when i do upgrade graphics card

So after finding this out i was looking for a nice Asus PCI-E 2.0 board, i found the Asus P5K-E (link http://www.overclockers.co.uk/show [...] MB-281-AS) which seemed to suit my needs, but of course this one does not come with inbuilt wifi

Basically im wondering if the new P45 chip outperforms the P35 chip enough to justify the difference?
Another point that worries me is ofcourse the P5K Premium is the top of the range of the P35 chip, but the P5Q-E is midrange of the P45

Any help or info on either of these motherboards will be greatly appreciated as it will help me make the final decision!

Thanks for your time!

(Ps if it helps, i will be using 800MHz DDR2 4-4-4-12, 8800 GTS, Q6600 (G0) and Samsung Spinpoint F1 1TB)

For pcie2.0, you need either x38/48 or p45. X38/48 support both pcie2.0 slots at 16x, p45 does not.

P45 is either superior than or the same as p35 in every way. It's meant as replacement for the aging p35, which is going out of production. Here in the States, p45 boards start at $99.99, not sure about uk prices.
