Hey!,

I'm alittle confused about my OC with my C2D E8400 E0, I've managed to get it stable @4ghz (which is very achievable with these CPU's) with only 1.22Vcore in BIOS and CPU-Z reads it at 1.200 - 1.208V

Now im pretty sure thats less than stock voltage or is stock voltage. How is that possible to get a hole ghz OC with no voltage increase?!?!, Is this quite normal???
Any thoughts???

I'm now doing Orthos blend stress test @ 4ghz with 1.218Vcore BIOS and 1.92v - 1.200v in CPU-Z, I'll run this for about 8 hours whilst running 3dm06 to apply more stress. Tempuratures at the moment are high 30's to low 40's, with my TRUE. (@100% load).

I'll put up some screen shots later, when its done a few hours, Its only done 16 mins so far.

Yeah i think i know about Vdrop, its the differance between BIOS and Windows Vcore right? and then Vdroop is the differance between Idle and Load Vcore???.

But anyway dont you think this is unusaly low Volatge for 1ghz OC?

no. When my Q9650 was at 4GHz I had the Vcore at 1.3185v and it Idle at 1.308v and 1.31v at load. Right now I don't have it at 4GHz is because I can't see the difference when I'm at 3GHz compared to 4GHz. I think mainly becuase of my Hard Drive. I want a raptor hard drive.

Huh?
Did i say that?? >.<
Anyway im up to 4hours orthos, Max temp has been 45C on both cores (this happened when i ran 3dm06 whilst orthos was running.)

Gonna try less Vcore in a sec.

Yeah, i tryed to go lower again, 1.668V in windows but that failed orthos after 7 minutes, so then i tryed upping the mhz to 455x9= 409xmhz with 1.208Vcore but that also failed after 22minutes and a 3dm06 run.
So im going to settle for 4ghz with 1.92Vcore under load, i know it can do more, but i've ran out of patience =/

I might try for 4.5ghz in the future, but not know, im bored

Lol oops my bad i meant 1.192vcore

Well i think theres quite a big differance in performance and not just in benchmarks.
I don't think that there would be much differance between 4ghz and 4.5ghz though, maybe 400points in 3dm06 and 1-3FPS in some games, Probably not worth the extra heat and voltage.
