Is my wireless card broken?

Hi, im at a boarding school, trying to connect with the following rig,

i7 920
Asus P6T deluxe
GTX 295
6gb ram
TP-Link 951N pci card
64 bit vista

im trying to connect to the school network which is WPA-2 secured 802.11G i think
i can connect locally sometimes but in the network box thing it shows that i am not
sending any packets. Also at home i cant connect to our home network which is
WPA-Personal.

in both situations my laptop has full connectivity
any suggestions?

What utility on your desktop do you use to try connecting to WiFi? You can try disabling that and using Windows' built-in Wireless network manager for connecting instead.
