So, when overclocking, I believe you can up the FSB a certain ammount, and then more voltage is required to go further. I have heard that you can up an e8400 to 400 FSB without upping the voltage any from stock.

First of all, is this true (the 400 without voltage mod)?

Second, if the voltage is not increased, will the chip produce any more heat as a result of the higher FSB clock?

Lastly, will 400 FSB be more stable with a minor voltage increase, than it would without any?

Yes.

1-3 degrees C.

Depends on mobo/RAM.

Important to check is the ratio your ram is running in. Ideally you want to run a 1:1 ratio. If you don't set it like that and you begin to up the FSB you can begin to overclock the ram past 800mhz(depends if your ram can handle this or not) and if it cant you will run into stability problems because of it.

Yeah, ideally I will run 1:1. ddr2 800 cas4 memory, and a 400 FSB should put the CPU at 3.6 ghz. I will be more than happy with those specs until I have done a lot more research into OCing.
