Hi, I don't know if the topic is in the right place, but I have an emergency problem. My old computer(AMD Sempron 2800+ ; 160GB HDD ; 512mb ddr2 and etc.) is turning off no matter what I do. When it is turned off for a while and I turn it on, it stays on without powering of for about 30 minutes. Then when I turn it on it stays 5 minutes and powers off. I tried to reinstall windows XP, formated the whole hard disc , and there was still a problem with powering off. The strangest thing is that it stays longer when i move the mouse repeatedly. When I play games it doesn't power-off but when I stop playing it powers-off 2 mins after that. I recently installed Ubuntu Linux and it wasn't having that power-off problem(but in BIOS or when I install windows - there it is again).
I hope my english isn't very bad because I'm from Bulgaria :)

Check your XP Power Option properties

Click on the Windows 'Start' button
Click on 'Control Panel'
Double-Click on 'Power Options'
Power Options dialog box will open.

You (or someone else) may have changed the power saving options.

The temperatures of the CPU and the Motherboard are about 30-35 , and that picture - everything is set to never.
