hi,
Long time lurker first time poster. I bought myself an 8800gt the other day to upgrade my machine and to run 2 24" monitors. It transpires that the via chipset doesn't like the 8800gt, so i though ah heck it ill upgrade the whole system. Basically will these components work together?

Also will does the 8800gt have any problems with the 780i chipset as i think i came across a problem with it somewhere while trying to solve the via problem.

Those components will be used with bits from my current rig:-
CM stacker stc-t01
Razer barracuda AC1
Adaptec 1420SA (2X Raid 0 (2X500gb)(2x300gb)
80gb os drive
500gb apps drive
80gb bit torrent drive

Any advice greatly appreciated

It'll work. :p

Ram is fine, so is 780i board. The ddr2 1000 is factory oced 800 ddr2, and may default back to 800 on auto. Just manually set it back in bios if that happens. The powersupply is long, and may not fit in case. Take measurements. 1000w is overkill, get a cheaper standard sized psu.

Im going to be running 7hard drives 2 dvd burners and a 8800gt and ill add another 4 sata2 drives later on, so thought id make sure to get a psu that can handle it. Im currently using 2 600w psu's wired together via pins 12-13 so they switch on together, and i have run out of connectors lol
