Hey,
I was wondering if anyone can help me achieve a stable overclock of the Q9650 to 3.6 GHZ.
1. My Setup:
Intel Core 2 Quad Q9650 @ 3.30 ghz w/ CoolerMaster GeminiII (Ambient Temp ~30-40 C).
Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3R ATX
A-data Extreme Edition DDR2 800 (2 * 1GB) @ 4-4-4-12 2.0v http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820211174
OCZ StealthXstream 600W
2. What I've tried:
Currently, I've tested my system at stock settings with Prime95 for 48 hours with 0 errors. I've also used Memtest and made sure my RAM was stable at the timings and voltage.
I tried adjusting the FSB to 366 MHZ, while leaving the other settings in BIOS on AUTO and Prime95 runs fine without any problems (temperatures at full load is ~60 C). When I try to push the FSB to 400 MHZ, the board POSTs and Windows would load fine. However, the moment I stress the system with Prime95 Large FFT's, it crashes (temperatures are still at ~60C during this load).
Below is the profile I've tried to adjust for 400MHZ (the highest voltages I've tried so far), but I have yet to find a setting where the system would still remain stable under Prime95.
[Voltage]
CPU PLL=1.500000 Volts
CPU Termination=1.28000 Volts (Default 1.20000 Volts)
CPU Reference=0.760000 Volts
CPU Vcore=1.330000 Volts (Default 1.250000 Volts)
DRAM Voltage=2.000000 Volts
DRAM Termination=0.900000 Volts
Channel A Reference=0.900000 Volts
Channel B Reference=0.900000 Volts
MCH Core=1.200000 Volts (Default 1.100000 Volts)
MCH/DRAM Reference=0.900000 Volts
MCH Reference=0.760000 Volts
ICH I/O=1.500000 Volts
ICH Core=1.200000 Volts (Default 1.100000 Volts)
Any suggestions are more then welcomed. I usually don't overclock my systems, but since everyone's been saying this CPU overclocks really easily, I thought I'd give it a shot.
