How to 'initialize' a hard drive in Vista?

I just got a 7200.12 1TB drive. I noticed that it has no jumper. When I plugged it in, it installed drivers and stuff. It was detected in Device Manager too. But when I go to format it, it says that the drive hasn't been initialized. I don't know how to initialize the drive in Vista! Help!

Check out Drive Management. Press Windows Key + R. Type in "diskmgmt.msc", press Enter.
