e8500
ASUS P5K DELUXE/WIFI-AP LGA 775 Intel P35 ATX Intel Motherboard - Retail
9900's/4series when come out(i have a 8600Gt laying around somewhere that i can temporary use until the release)
8gb ddr2 800 ocz sli edition
seagate barracuda 500gb 7200RPM 32mb
DvD burner with lightscribe
vista ultimate 64 bit

Can someone tell me if there is a better mobo then the one i picked out?
Also does anyone know if the 9900's/4 series will need an available 6 pin PCI-E power connector and an available 8 pin PCI-E power connector on the power supply?

I think the ASUS P5K-E is the better overclocker. Capable of even 500fsb, it'll truly make that 8500 shine.

Suggestion though. Instead of forking out the extra cash for the 8500, why don't you go for the 8400 that's a fair bit cheaper and overclocks to about the same frequency. Some people even claim 4ghz on stock voltage.

Unless you are getting an unbelievable deal on the memory, why get 8g's? If gaming is all you do then for now 4Gs is more than enough.

Get a good power supply, caugh, caugh, .... corsair.... caugh.

There are a few other good ones too but corsair is a favorite.

That's why i have 8gb, got them for real cheap on sale.

But i found a good use for having that much memory. You can completely turn off the Page File so that when playing games you won't get any negative framerate spikes.
