Windows xp hangs after login

Hello,
my wife left the pc running with a game called Monster Quest on. Now when She or the other two users log on the pc freezes up. What can I do to fix it?

Can you log in via Safemode ?

Also try running msconfig (Start-Run-msconfig) and then click on the 'Diagnostic Startup' radio button, apply and reboot your PC
