Hi there.

I own a SATA Maxtor 500GB hard disc and it has bad partition tables (that's what Partition Magic says). I've read that fixmbr could fix this issue but I'm affraid that if I do it my data could get lost, forever, so I'd like to know any tool to make a backup of the data or to solve this problem in the less risky way.

Any sugestion is more than well recived. Thanks!!

You can try building an image of your entire disk first, just so you can restore that in case trying to restore your partitions wipes out your data.

To backup your disk, use Clonezilla.

Thank you for taking the time!!!

I'm reading about clonezilla and think I'm going to use it. I'll tell how it goes.

Thanks again.

You can image the drive with the free backup software EASEUS Todo Backup http://www.todo-backup.com first, or fix mbr with Partition Table Doctor http://www.ptdd.com.
