Hello,

currently I have a 8800GTX card and am running 2 monitors(22inch) on it.  I want to run 3 monitors though.

Would I be able to run 3 monitors if i bought another 8800GTX card.  Btw, im NOT looking into having the panoramic view or anything, just want to have 3 screens running.

well, technically yes, but you wouldn't be able to run SLi. either get a super cheap PCI card or get a matrox 3 way splitter (more for if you want to make the three screens one big screen).

I was thinking of the Matrox splitter but it doesnt support 3 monitors with a 1680x1050 res.

Im not looking into SLI atm, my computer is pretty good right now.

I tried putting in a ATi FireGL card and it wouldnt show the third screen, but then someone told me it doesnt work cause ATI and Nvidia dont play nice.

So me buying another 8800GTX would allow me to run 3 monitors correct?

Just making sure

Thanks,

Just get a 2nd Video card. You don't need an 8800GTX because I am willing to bet you aren't gaming on 3 screens.  An 8600GT or less would work great. Even a 8400GS or whatever they are would be fine. I take it you just want a massive desktop to control airliners or something.
