How to instal 64 to a 32

how do I install a windows vista 64 bit on a computer that runs a 32

Wipe the disk and do a clean install. Unless you split the drive and dual boot.

Are you saying wipe my hard drive first and then install windows? Thats what im wanting to do is a clean install, but when I put in the disk, a message pops up saying my computer cant install this software....How do I wipe my disk clean? BTW thanks for the reply..

Its my girlfriends computer. Its running xp at the moment, so I wanted to update it to vista. The vista cd I have is a 64 bit software. I tried running the disk at start up and it says that it cant install because its 64 bit software, and this computer runs 32.. I was curious if there is any way around this issue..

That's why I asked for hardware information. It looks like a 32-bit only system.
