Hi,

My friend wants a new AGP graphics card. He DEFINITELY doesn't want to upgrade to an PCI-E mobo.
We upgraded the PSU for an OCZ 600W
We tried to install an Sapphire 2600 XT AGP but it won't work in HellGate-London. We tried different drivers and Bios settings but nothing worked. You might be aware of all the issues already.
Now we need another card. He wants to spend about 100-125$ on it.
I was thinking of a 7300 GT AGP.

What are your thoughts on this?

Thanks

7300gt perform far lower than 2600xt. If the 2600xt is defective, rma it for another one.

Not sure if its defective since a whole lot of people had problems with these drivers. Could you suggest another card?

Hi jenden,
Have you still got the 2600XT and if so did you know about the hotfix drivers that are specifically for these cards in AGP as you by now know they have issues. http://support.ati.com/ics/support [...] onID=31542

If you have tried these already or dont have the card anymore then can you let us know what the rest of the system contains, we can match recomendations to the spec of the machine then :)

Yes I still have the 2600 XT. I tried the recommended Omega 7.12 Drivers, but the PC reboots on startup. Will try the hotfix.

Uninstall driver, run driver sweeper, then reinstall.
