BSOD Issue

keep getting pfn_list_corrupt and similar messages on blue screen, then machine stops and tries again...
computer repair shop no use: problem recurs as soon as get home.
machine IBM T40 running XP

  1. That's normally a symptom of a RAM error. You might want to try downloading memtest and let it check your memory.

    the techies at my stores claim to have run comprehensive memory test.
  3. No harm in doing another one. It may not be the answer, but I always prefer to check these things for myself. If you trust the store, take it back and ask them to fix it - you paid for a fix and they haven't done it.
