I in no way shape or form had anything to do with this article other then I found it and thought it interesting enough to post the link. I did not copy and paste because it is not mine. I "found" this article at another comp site, not the one in the link below but for the sake of TH I'll leave that link out.

First - I'm not an expert on this but...it is my understanding that partitions do not do the same thing as short stroking. I asked a similar question ;)

i couldnt for the life of me remember the term.

also, raptors arent praised for their throughput, although its decent. its their response time that is below the norm.

and im pretty sure you can set up a partition to be on the faster part of a harddrive, acting as a short stroke.
