I have Windows Xp PRO Service pack 2, motherboard Gigabyte GA-8S661FXM-775 and I had 512Mb di Ram Kingston PC3200 DDr 400, then I added 512Mb of Transcend PC3200 ddr 400.
If i go in Control Panel -> System I can only see 480 insted of 1024
But in CPU-Z and Everest I can see the two slots: one with the Kingston memory and one with the Trandscend one, with a total of 1024Mb.
I tried to reset the BIOS, but it didn't work. They aren't damaged because i tried them individuallu and they worked.
In my BIOS there aren't any refer to the RAM, so i can't modifythis setting with the BIOS.

Could you help me?
Thanks a lot :)

PS: Sorry for my English...

You probably have 512Mb dedicated to onboard memory. You could try going into the bios and reduce it.

If you can view 1024 on your post screen, then you should be ok.

I can't modify the configuration from the BIOS, but I can see only 390000Kb+128Mb shared (tot 512Mb, not 1024)
