I just finished putting together a new pc (minutes ago), I can't seem to get vista installed though. Everything seems to be installed correctly, but when I try to install vista (from cd/dvd drive) it loads the files...gets to the the teal screen and never beings an installation process.

Do I have ram problems

o and its 64 bit windows ultimate

any help would be great

this might help but not sure but i read some were that on 64bit vista you are saposed to install it with only 2 gigs of ram then when its installed you put in the full amount of ram you want in it.

like i said it might help and it might not iv never used vista but it cant hurt to try.

More details would help. system specs etc...At the very least fill in "Your computer:" in Public Profile in your profile setup.

If by chance you are using 4 gigs of ram, I have read about people having issues installing, try it with only 1 stick(if you have 2x2gb) or 3 (if you have 4x 1gb). Then update once its installed, once the updates are installed, turn it off and replace the stick(s) you removed.

sorry i never post on forums, but anyway its a intel core 2 quad q9300, as rock 4core 1600p35, trying to install raid with 2x 250gig seagates, and I have four gigs of ram(and i tried using only 2 gigs).

so basically it loads windows files, gets to the teal screen where it looks to start the installation process but nothing happens and it never moves from that teal screen.

thanks for any advice you can give

btw, u said raid? did u install the raid drivers before installing windows? i never done that before. but i know that if you want to use raid. then you'll have to load the raid drivers manually before starting of windows installation.

try googling raid driver installation. im damn sure it is somewhere in this forum, coz i've seen the steps before, just that i didnt bother. coz im not using it.
