darn, i would have hoped for a discount on the "defective" ssds. ^^

So if you don't set a HDD password in the system BIOS, these disks are perfectly fine? Probably won't affect anyone then, since i don't know of people who rely on the fake BIOS password protection which is easily circumvented with just one button/jumper (CMOS clear).

Instead of this minor issue, i would have been more interested in new benchmarks of the drives, which should have an even lower read latency now (=more IOps).

Who sets BIOS passwords.

Apparently nobody, since Intel didn't find this before release.
