windows xp & outlook express

I just bought this PC, 20 July, and am in the process of installing DSL. I
know nothing about Computers or the Internet. The purpose of this adventure
is to establish a hobby in my retirement years. I am on the current version
of Windows XP.

My question is I have been looking for info about Outlook Express on my
system but can,t find anything. Is Outlook Express included in my software or
must I download it??

I don,t know which program I used. I just used search, entered
microsoft.com, then posted to this group.

Right-click on message header, choose properties then details shows:

X-Newsreader: Microsoft CDO for Windows 2000

Your ISP will probably have a page on their web site with the name of the
email server or they may have provided details with your service pack.

There will probably be two servers one for incoming and one for outgoing.
They might have a names something like...

In.... mail-in.name_of your_isp.com
or pop3.name_of your_isp.com

Out... mail-out.name_of your_isp.com
or smtp.name_of your_isp.com

Sometimes ISP provide a CD to configure OE but to be honest it's best if you
can do it yourself as these CD sometimes customise OE too much.
