I am looking to upgrade my motherboard and cpu, and I just wanted to know if I will be able to plug in my old Hard-drive (with OS installed) and go, or will I have to reinstall the os? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'd reinstall too. Let Windows figure out the new hardware and install the right drivers and update the registry and so on.
