Trouble using eSata with External HDD

I'm having an issue connecting my Fantom 1TB Green Drive to the eSata card I've recently added onto my machine. The model is the VIA eSATA SATA IDE RAID VT6421A PCI Card. I'm not sure if the RAID itself is an issue, I just want to transfer data from my onboard hard drives to the External HDD. The Fantom detects fine with the USB cord, but with the eSata cable nothing. I installed the drivers for the eSata card and the computer says the device is working fine, but my Harddrive shows up nowhere, not even in disk management. Any suggestions?

If you're looking to transfer the files right now, I suggest you connect your Fantom directly to your mobo, so that you can access it and copy files from it. It supports SATA and IDE right?
