Partitioning an 8gb hard drive.

I installed xp. Ive never really partitioned much. But arent you supposed to have to partitions. One with the os and one with free space? Thanks.

No. One partition will do fine. But 8GB is a little on the small side.

8gb HDD? That has to be a typing error?

If it's not a typing error and this is an old computer you're planning on putting XP on, you may want to consider getting a more up to date HDD to install on, Just a suggestion.
