Hi all!

i'm getting this system:

DVRW NEC 7200S X 20 SATA BLACK
320GB 16MB SATA II 7200 AAKS WD
DDR II 2GB 800Mhz CL5 HEATSINK PATRIOT X2
ABIT IP35P INTEL P35 FSB1333 DDR2 1066
INTEL E8200 2.66GHZ CORE2DUO 1333MHZ 6M BOX
CASE X-GAMER
FSP 400-PAF 400W
Gigabyte 8800GTS 512MB

do you think that the power supply(FSP 400-PAF 400W) will hold the system?
I'm on a tight budget so i prefer not to buy a more expensive one.

Thanks a lot,
Uri

I appreciate being on a tight budget, but one component you should not be a cheap-skate on is the power supply. My advice is to spend the money on a quality psu. I've moved the same psu from machine to machine for the past few builds, it was worth the $150.

A 400w psu should be enough for your specs, as listed. But you might want to bump it up to 500w or even 650w to get more life out of the psu plus account for any additional components you might add.

I HIGHLY recommend Corsair psu's. Cool, quiet, and reliable. Take a look the Corsair CMPSU-550VX 550W. It is very much worth the $90 from newegg, especially when I bought mine for $120 from Microcenter.

You can use this psu calculator to verify the size of your psu.

Does the "fsp" firm is well known or is it a generic power supply?
I calculated and found out that i need ~340 watt.

Thanks for your answer, but you think that this PS will match my computer regarding the amount and types of connectors\cables (for example:mother board power connection, SATA 2 HD connection, DVD connection, and the 8800gts )?

Thanks a lot for your answers!
