I received a Dell 518 for Christmas and I would like to know what a good after market replacement MOBO is for the stock Dell MOBO.
I have finished the pin mod on the Q6600 and I am up to 3.0Ghz air cooled but with the locked out BIOS I am at a stand still.

Unfortunately, Dells are not designed for aftermarket replacements. Any MB you buy may or may not fit (you'll have to look inside), and will likely need a new power supply, which may or may not fit in the space of the current one. Also, you will have to buy a new copy of Windows, as the Windows that came with the Dell won't work with your new MB (this obviously isn't a problem if you're using Linux etc).

In general, it's easier and cheaper to start from scratch.
