Recently I bought online a WD Scorpio Blue, which turned out to be defective. Also, I noticed something weird: the label shows 2 characters written by pen, as you can see in the photo. What could it mean?

Thanks

The drive was sealed in its anti-static bag with WD logo... but I was wondering if it could be a repaired/refurbished disk and the sign made by a WD factory/repair center... anyway I've never seen any pen sign on a label and I don't see why a WD employee would do it, apart to see if his pen was working :??:

I'd be more interested in knowing who in H-E-double hockey sticks wrote over the serial number. I'd recommend that you return and exchange if possible.

The serial number is ok, i just edited the photo before posting it to avoid people playing with my warranty.
And yes, atm I'm trying to return it as it was dead on arrival with 44% of damaged sectors, according to HD Tune.
