I have major newb question here, but I want to ask anyway. If I move a soundcard from one pci slot to a different do I need to remove the device first? I assume yes, but I figured Iwould ask first.

No, I don't think you need to uninstall any drivers. Simply turn off your PC, do the swap, and when you boot again, Windows will reinstall the card automatically.

Dont need to, power off , reseat card in the other slot turn back on now worries

wasnt there some old motherboards that was picky about that? irq address and ports or something?
