Budget PC $800-$1000 with Monitor

Hi, I am looking to build a new system I only use it for a little gaming maybe a GT8600 is ok. Any recommendation / suggestions are welcome.

Currently looking into
Q6600 2.4Ghz or E8400
XMS 4Gig DDR2 800Mhz

You might want to get something better than the 8600GT if you are a serious gamer.

I am not a serious gamer, and no I won't be OC'ing my comp.

Stick with the Q6600.

How long are you keeping this build? If it's for a few years, look at the X38/X48 offerings. i.e. GA-X38-DQ6. If it's a placeholder until Nehalem, look at the budget P35. i.e. GA-P35.DS3L or DS3R with RAID.

About cases, do you prefer blink to functionality? Or the other way around?

As for good psus, pick out a tier 1/2/3. Look at the side of the box or specs under sys. req. of the card for the wattage. 350w minimal for 8800GT. A 450-500W will last a few upgrades.
