My volume keys open windows media player?

I did not touch any settings or anything at all. I try to raise my volume and every time i do, my volume doesn't raise/lower/mute and windows media player opens....This is quite confusing, any help, thanks in advance. ~Mike~

Repair the OS and reinstall WMP.
