Hi,

I have a little problem here. I just shot my graphics card about a month ago and my old x1050 just ain't doing it for me. So I looked at the choices and my wallet and came to the decision that a 9600 GT is probably the best replacement for now. Well here is the problem; My mobo itself (ASUS A8N32-SLI-Delux) has seen better days and has only the old PCIex16 ports (I think its 1.0 or 1.1). Well most, if not all, of the new graphics cards have the PCIe 2.0 standard. Do these graphics cards work like USB and are downgradeable really easy or do I have to invest into a new mobo/CPU/Ram just because my card is shot?

Thx Me

No you can use a 2.0 card in a 1.xx slot and since it is x16, you won't really lose any performance.

No problem..PCI-e so far is backwards compatible all the way, not like that AGP PRO junk, or the 1x - 2x - 4x vs 4x - 8x boards...

Do a search on Google if anyone had problems. It is the exception rather than the norm.
