I have overclocked my intel E4600 core 2 duo from 2.4ghz to 3.2ghz using 12x multiplier and 1066fsb plus mem 533mhz. the question i have is that i'm trying to set the fsb to 1333 and mem to 667mhz but i need to set the multiplier to 9.5 to do so but i can't seem to set it to 9.5x unless i'm missing something. if you have any info on how to set the multiplier to 9.5x it would be helpful. tried using the decimal point but that doesn't work. cheers.

pc specs as follows

win vista 32-bit
dell xps 630i
nforce630i chipset
4gb ram
geforce 9800gtx+
500gb hdd
750 watt psu
atx mobo

I think the older 650i chipset doesn't support 1/2 CPU multiplier. If it works with whole numbers like 10,9,8 then there's probably nothing wrong with your system.

Your best bet is to contact Dell Tech Support to make sure.

In regards to your memory speed. You are using an Nvidia chipset, Unless Dell modified it, you should be able to unlink your RAM and run it independent of the FSB.

yes the multiplier works in increments of 12/11/10 and so on...i can unlink all settings in ram and "memory timings" which i have not touched yet. i just need to get the multiplier to 9.5 instead of 9 if you have a good clean setting for memory timings or such that would be grand. cheers for the quick reply michael

If you run memory unlinked, you can manually type in the speed you want. If you want 800mhz, just type that into the field. The memory controller will automatically adjust to the best ratio.
