Hey, everybody. I have heard time and time again that my 8600GTS 256MB DDR 3 SSC is much better than my 8600GT 1GB DDR2. In addition, I have read a couple of places that an 8600GTS is basically an overclocked 8600GT.
I want to have fun. I was to overclock this 8600GT until its on the verge of blowing up to see how fast I can get it up to. Anybody recommend any good (free, on a horrible budget b/c I'm looking for a job) benchmark programs or any good ways to overclock the motherboard? I don't care if it blows up or catches on fire...wanna push it to the max....and do benchmarks...I'll let everyone know the results.
I know, I know...there are much better graphics boards out there. I just got finished building a friend a multimedia pc with a touch screen lcd on the front with an Asus 1GB 9800GTX GX2 with DDR3 or 4 (can't remember that one but about 700 bucks). with a quad core pentium, asus mobo, and corsair ddr3. It just makes me ill when I look at my amd 4000+ with a biostar motherboard. Oh well, I can dream that I have alot of money now...lol. Thanks for any info.
Wohooo....I was playing Warcraft for a long time. Then all of a sudden I started getting memory errors, and the blue screen. I touched the video card...the evga 3800GTS....holy cow...that thing was sizzling hot. I swapped out the video card and it ran fine with the 1GB....before I overclock it...i'm going to have to check the GTS to make sure it's not fried.
