Hi all

Im having problems overclocking a q9450 past 3.2GHz. Im watercooling so heat isnt a problem, any ideas on what the problem could be or any advice on how to get more out of the processor. I have a GA-X48T-DQ6 mobo, ocr 1333mhz DDR3 with 7-7-7-20 timings. Help?

you can not for the most part get much more then 3.4ghz with taking some big hits

your need a lot voltage and its not worth pushing it too much past 400-425 fsb the x48 can be stable at 450-475 there are gaps too

over 400 fsb is tricky and you need to tune it alot - crank of the vtt and pll, nb

the memory is wrong - i mean - i would use fsb 1800 memory

such as good super talent 1600 7-7-7 or 6-7-7, can be pused to 1700+ which is need to 1:1 425fsb

you need 1.95-2v i would not go over 2v with ddr2, with nvidia i would not go over 1.85-1.9v

I have the Ga EX38 DS5 motherboard with the same processor, I have my system set to 375x8 which gives me 3Ghz but I use the CIA fuction in the BIOS and set it to Sports, this boosts the FSB to 425 Mhz =3.4Ghz when the system is at load.

I find this works well, my system will not run stable if I manually set it to 3.4Ghz (425x8) so I assume that the CIA function boosts the voltages as well.

I under volt my CPU to achive minimum heat and I use the gigabyte Easytune to minimise my CPU fan at Idle temps.
