When my 9500 gt 512mb gddr2 is overclocked it slows down.

Hello im new here so don't flame me if im doing something that is clearly wrong. When i overclock my 9500 gt at all it slows down to a point of almost un-useable. im using evga precision to tune the card and it never exceeds 52c so its not overheating what is the problem i go into garrys mod 10 and i notice that the frame rate drops at least 25-30 frames from the stock clock.

Are you sure you aren't lowering the VRAM speed by mistake?

isn't that card pretty weak to begin with?

download GPU-Z, and watch the clock speeds on your card to see what is happening.

that is usually a unstable OC result of a unstable OC where some frame rate fail to render properly so you see frames "missing".
