I have an acomdata 250 external. I'm using vista and It detects the hdd, and auto plays. I put in my password, but I must restart or wait hours, literally, for it to show up in vista. It works perfectly in xp. I guess I should be glad it works at all with vista, but it gets annoying. I searched the forums and didn't find anything in my searches. Is there any way of fixing it? (didn't mean to post this twice, and I don't know how to delete it.)

I don't understand, do you keep the external hard disk connected to your computer when you boot it up? Have you tried plugging in the external hard disk when you're computer is already booted up?
