Im about to buy a cpu and mobo in 2 hours. I have decided purchasing an E8400, but need help on a mobo. I want a mobo known for great overclockibility,, stable mobo. and supports e8400. I really dont think ill go sli, but if theres a mobo with sli not passing my budget then ill go for it, why not? my budget not over $150. What about an 680i mobo? I know they do support e8400, but are this mobo are still worth buying, or what about ASUS P5N-D 750i, heard this mobo doesnt read e8400 correct temeratures. Rig will be only be use for gaming.

It's not just about how fast the rig is, its about how good the rig sounds.

The Wolfdales have inaccurate idle temp readouts, but accurate load temps. You just have to worry about the cpu temp. Not core temps.

The 680i supports up to Wolfdales. If you upgrade to Yorkies, you'll be SOL. Stick with either 750i/780i or better yet P35. The Abit IP35-E can be had for $70 after rebate. DS3L is $90-ish.
