I tried to install ATI calatyst control for my ATI 1950 Pro and it said INF (north bridge filter driver) missing or something? so it that mean my video card is no good or from my motherboard? i have MSI k9A2 mobo.
Before it works fine and running good til i installed 8.5 calatyst then its messed up everything and it wont let me play any games ( bf 2142, COD4, Crysis) so i tried to downgrade to 8.2 then it wont work cuz of INF file.
so what is the problem with that?
can anyone help me?
if it video card is not good and its time for me to upgarde to 3870 or wait for 4870 but since 4870 wont come out in 1-2 months so i cant wait without no games lol so can 3870 crossfire with 4870? if im gonna buy 3870 now.
thx hope anybody can help the problem.
i need to know by tomorrow afternoon or i will take it to shop and fix it or buy new video card and try? or wipe my HDD and try again?

When you say downgrade what do you mean exactly, did you just roll back or did you uninstall the drivers properly ie driver cleaner or the uninstall tool that comes with the drivers.
What i think has probably happened is there has been an omission in the drivers for your card ID, apparantly this happens from time to time granted it shouldnt but your card is not the newest even if its still a great card.
Anyway what i would do is clean the drivers out properly and then install a set you know worked before.
Here is a link to some older drivers http://ati.de/support/drivers/xp/r [...] us-xp.html Mactronix
The current catalyst drivers have caused problems for some ppl, do a proper uninstall and like the man before me said use the drivers that worked for you before.
From reading what you wrote, I don't think that the card is bad or damaged in any way. Do an absolute clean uninstall and reinstall of the drivers that worked before, 8.4 or older.
If that doesn't work, the drastic reinstall of the OS might be inorder.
