SATA modes: IDE, RAID, AHCI - confused!
Jul 6, 2008, 9:46 PM
I just bought an Intel DP35DP mobo, pretty basic. Anyway, I intend to install Vista 64 onto a single SATA drive with no intention of RAIDing in the future.
I am confused as to which mode to choose: IDE, RAID, or AHCI.
Intel mentions in the UM to choose RAID even with a single disk if there is the possibility that a second disk will be added later and RAID operation is desired.
I have no intention of RAIDing. Which mode such I use - please explain.
