WDA-2320 and Vista 64 problems

Hello,

I have a custom built system with a D-Link WDA-2320 network card. I am currently running Windows Vista x64. I have the card installed and working but I feel that it isn't running at 100% capability (its a 108 mb/s card). I am currently using the Atheros driver for this card and the router i am using is a NETGEAR WPN824v3 router. When i try to download things i get rates between 800 bytes and 14 kb/s tops. When playing games i get a ping of about 95 but when watching loss and choke im averaging 30-40 in each. when i have my system running into the router via Cat5 i get ping of 40 and no loss or choke and download rates upwards of 1.1 mb/s. Before i had the D-Link card i had a NETGEAR WPN311 that i couldn't get to work in the system either. I'm a total noob when it comes to networking and really would appreciate any help that people can give me. If you need more information just let me know and ill post it.
