New setup

Short question: will this work? What issues are they to consider?

Q9450
EX38-DS4
corsair pc6400 4 x 2gb (TWIN2X4096-6400C5)
XFX 8800 GT, 512 mb
150 gb raptor disk
550 W Corsair PSU

Do I have to upgrade bios right away, using for instance a E6600 to do so?

its ok but why you don't go with ATi Route you're mother board is CrossFire
i may suggest HD 4850 and crossfire in future

4850 better than 8800GT and 8800GTS

Thats for the simple reason, that I have the XFX Geforce 8800 GT already... ;-)

I have read some forum threads saying that it is rather difficult to run 4 x 2 gb ram, and you should change bios settings for the ram. Is this an issue?


And...Do I have to upgrade bios right away, using for instance a E6600 to do so? Or does the EX38-DS4 work out of the box with the Q9450?

check you're mobo bios version
it should work with F3 bios download it from the website
as for the 4x2 RAM it should work
