I only use PC Power & Cooling...and their model 610 (constant rated) has more amps and is a far better PSU than almost any 700 Watt PSU.
Price is often $109 with free shipping.

I wouldn't worry about it too much. It seems solid enough, decent reviews, decent price. There is a degree of elitism on most tech forums. People chase brands and look down upon bargains.

This is what I use. No fluctuations even on high load. Satisfied so far. Generic brand, changed to it as replacement after a Falcon Liberty (high tier 2, highly recommended by the "1337 ppl" ) bugged out on me.

I don't trust rosewill myself. Its a discount brand, quality tends to be a little poor. I would spend an extra $10 on a better PSU, like what ZOldDude recommended, or this one from corsair.

Just better quality, PSU is something you should not skimp on. I learned my lesson after skimping on PSU, mobo, case, RAM on the PC I use atm.

Rosewill PSUs are cr@p. I recommend PP&C and Corsair.

@dagger: The ePower that you listed isn't bad (Tier 3). But I still won't recommend using it for a mid/high end build with any thing above a 8600GS. Also "Falcon Liberty" isn't tier 2. I don't know about that PSU. Do you mean the Enermax Liberty?

They were there when I checked several months ago, when I built my rig. Or I may have remembered the name wrong. They must've changed ratings since then. :p

^dagger, couldn't find a "Falcon Liberty" on Google, so it must have been a Enermax Liberty.

I thought of Rosewill as a pretty generic brand myself until I tried out a case+psu combo from them. I was presently surprisied with the results; the case was fine( plenty of room but a little flimsy) and the PSU was virtually silent and had more then enough headroom for what it was powering (though it could have had more cables).

Here's the one I got: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6811147054

Would I rather use a brand name item? Yes, obviously, but I think Rosewill deserves a little bit more credit then they're getting.

I use 3 Rosewill PSU in 3 of my systems and have not had any problems. If they were as crappy as some would make them out to be, that 81% for 4-5 eggs would not be there.

Like all things, if you're on a budget, it's nothing but compromises. If you got that extra $10 then pick up the PC P&C 610W.
