I am debating between these two RAM kits:

and

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820145194

The first has 5-5-5-18 timings with 1.9v and the second 4-4-4-12 with 2.1v

I am using an Asus Rampage Formula MoBo

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131284

I want to overclock the q6600 to whatever I can get - hoping for 3.4 praying for 3.6.

Will the timings have a large effect on the overclock? I am looking for a 1:1 synchronous clock.

Comments much appreciated!

But do you think the 2.1v will cause any issues - some have been reported - I am sure I can change the voltage to the RAM though - but I want some more opinions!

Will the difference in voltage create any noticeable temperatures? Trying to keep the whole thing icy cold like Hillary Clinton's soul.

Some sticks get warmer then others(My OCZ stuff burns me, my cheap no name stuff runs very cool), ram can run hot without issues. The heat output will not hurt your general computer temps.

I run 4 sticks at 2.2 and i notice no difference from my old 2.0 sticks(they do have cooling because of how close they are, but it does not warm up the case or anything like that).
