HI

I'm having serious problem with my external harddisk Maxtor Basic Portable 320GB. If i connect to the pc...the drive shown but i cannot access the drive...if i access the drive it hanged for about 5 6 seconds and this msg is shown "H:\ is not accessible. The file or directory is corrupted and unreadable".
so i have run chkdsk /f/r from command prompt ....for chkdsk /f it did show lots of errors and being repaired but still cannot acccess...for chkdsk /r it shows no bad sector and says all fine.

Please help....i have so many important data inside. I'm out of idea for what to do next.

Thank you for in advance !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

P.S Sorry for my bad English

You can try running Test Drive on the disk I guess. How important is your data? There comes a time when you have to rely on a pro and his or her accompanying equipment.
