Hello this is the first time I am ever going to build a system. Here are the specs of it, please comment on them if they are good or bad choices!
 
Total Cost: $1612
CASE: Antec Nine-Hundred
OS: OEM Vista Premium 32 bit
MOBO: Asus P5N-D SLI 750i
CPU: Intel Q6600
HEATSINK: Zalman 9500A
PSU: OCZ GameXStream 700W
RAM: Crucial Ballistix DDR2 800 (4 x 1gb)
VIDEO CARD: XFX 8800GTS Alpha Dog overclocked
HDD: Segate 7200.11 500gb (32mb cache)
DVD BURNER: SAMSUNG 20X DVD±R LIGHTSCRIBE
SOUND CARD: Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi XtremeGamer
MONITOR: SAMSUNG 2253LW 21.6 inch
SPEAKERS: Logitech Z-2300

you great with the seagate hard drive.
 
im just an amatuer, but i think that windows vista 32 bit only recognized 3 gb memory, so there is no point in having 4 unless you get 64 bit. you better double check this tho, as i may be wrong =p
 
ive heard abit mobo is better than asus
 
a lot of people recommend your case, so your fine there. also your processor is great.  
 
better get a second opinion tho =D

Get vista 64. There is no reason not to, especially if you are getting 4gb RAM. Otherwise looks nice to me.

I would get 2x2gb memory so you have the option to upgrade 8gb if you ever needed to do that, also the XIGMATEK HDT-S1283 120mm Rifle CPU Cooler on newegg is only $37 and is the highest rated cpu cooler on frostytech.com, so I would get that
