I am having some problem with my Samsung DVD Drive. Sometimes if I insert a DVD/CD into DVD drive it freezes my system for 5 to 10 minutes then everything become normal. After that if I go to "My Computer" there is no DVD ROM icon exist except DVD Writer. It's not the power supply because when i press the open button the drive opens. These problems are happening randomly.

What is causing this problem? How can rectify this problem ?

Are you able to try the drive on another computer? This will help you eliminate the rest of your computer as part of the problem. In any case, how old is this drive of yours?

I have not tried to any other computer because I live alone. My drive is only 1 month old
