Is this safe - long term

I have my i7 920 ocerclocked to 3.8 and my memory is at 1603mhz (Corsair Dominator 1600's). It idles at 45c. I did a stress test using Everest and it went to 81c on a 20 min. test. When I play Call to Duty 4 it stays around 66c. HT is on.

Do you all think it's safe to keep these setting?

i7 920 (cooled with V10)

Cooler properly mounted ? Room temp ? Case have enough IN and OUT fans ?

It's idling at 38c now. It's a new cooler. A friend who's also a computer tech told me that the thermal takes a few days to work properly. If it's true or not it's 7c cooler than yesterday. The room stays around 75-76F.

nice to know. its true that your thermal compound can take 2-3 days to sets properly. 81C is still HIGH.

im not an I7 pro, you CPUv seems ok. Monitor temp .. remont your Cooler if needed.
