I personally use Avast. A lot of people use Microsoft Security Essentials.

If your computer is too infected to allow an A/V install, you can use TrendMicro's Housecall for free, to scan you computer and remove the bad things it finds.

Yes, that is probably the best way to scan the drive. I have two backup computers that I could use, and I'll bet you have several, but I don't know how many Jon O has.

sounds like u guys are a little more computer savy than i am. lol.... i have two n they are running good, just the redirect problem. will try the trend micro n c what happens. will let u know. thanks
