I personally use Avast. A lot of people use Microsoft Security Essentials.

If your computer is too infected to allow an A/V install, you can use TrendMicro's Housecall for free, to scan you computer and remove the bad things it finds.

Or pull the hard drive, slave it in another PC, and scan it from there.

Yes, that is probably the best way to scan the drive. :)  I have two backup computers that I could use, and I'll bet you have several, but I don't know how many Jon O has. :pt1cable:

Yep. I got 3 running at the moment, and a few others in pieces. It's a nice luxury to have.

sounds like u guys are a little more computer savy than i am. lol.... i have two n they are running good, just the redirect problem. will try the trend micro n c what happens. will let u know. thanks
