Hey, i have the Antec 900 case, and i was thinking of getting the Corsair CMPSU-620HX 620W with it, and i was wondering will the fan on the bottom of the Power Supply cause any problems because the Antec 900 PSU slot is on the bottom of the case? Are the Cables long enough? oh and does anyone know if the PSU is any good?

as far as i know the fan on the 620hx is on the side of the PSU, not bottom. Anyhow its a high quality PSU and the cables are long enough.

I think you will find that the PSU goes into the case upside down in cases with the PSU at the bottom.

The Corsair HX is a good single rail PSU, although I don't personally care for the modular flat cables. I'm not familiar with the 900, but if it is like the 180 you will actually have an easier time hiding the cables behind the mobo with the flat ones.

You can get the Silencer 750W for $20 less than the 620HX.

It's not modular, but it's just as good as the 620HX. Lots of people would say it's even better - but of course who gives a d*** if a PSU has 50 awards or 90, they're both great. The Silencer is more powerful, and the fan is blowing properly out the back of the case rather than vertically.

The PSU has to seated upside down in antec 900 mate.

Edit: Zorg beat me to it :)

Agreed with Aevm though. This is an even better deal btw: Corsair 750TX for just $99

He never gave a link to the HX or his country, so I didn't bother to look at the Egg. Every time look, they say I live in xxx and can't go there.

By all means if you have access to Newegg that is a killer price on the Silencer 750.

The TX750 is also a good PSU with an excellent price.

No, the heat generated is proportional to the load and inversely proportional to the efficiency, not the size of the PSU.

In my opinion modular may be more convenient but non modular is better. There is one less point for failure and added resistance. It's your PSU, so whatever you like.

Definitely get the Silencer 750 or the Corsair TX750, the HX620 is too much, it's not even in the ball park.

I don't know what you are referring to there, but if it is the heat issure you missed one thing

but at full load the 750 has a lot more heat to dissipate so it'll be louder

If you are just talking about whether the 620HX will do the job, it absolutely will. If it was cheaper I would say buy it, but they are charging a premium, probably because its notoriety has increased demand, or maybe it's just not the sale of the week. My preference is the Silencer 750 but the 750TX is still a better buy. Hell, if you want the 620HX then get it, I really don't care either way, remember it's your PSU. I personally have a Silencer 610 that I paid $119 for, so I'm a little pissed that they are dumping the 750 for the same price. Oh well, what can one do.

Good luck with it.

I have that setup and its fine, simply flip the psu upside down so the fan is up and not towards the bottom of the case.
