Dual Boot XP and Vista on 2 Hard Drives

Couldn't decide if this should go in the HDD board or Windows board. Obviously decided here.

Building a new PC, throwing in a couple of HDDs, and I'd like to dual boot XP and Vista.

Is the best way to do that by giving each OS its own hard drive? Through RAID? Both OSes on HDD 1 and important data files (that both OSes could read) on HDD 2?
